Research data and corrections

How published research is produced, reviewed and corrected, and how to ask for a change.

Sources and eligibility

A connection is published when a public source supports it. Legal registers, engineering posts, technical documentation, public code, provider case studies and press are eligible, and each keeps its type. Advertising partner lists and program participation are kept but not counted.

Provider-page review

Where we have reviewed a provider’s customer pages, a connection can be marked “not found in reviewed provider customer pages” with the pages and date. Providers without a completed review show “announcement status not reviewed”.

Corrections

Reports are reviewed by a researcher. A correction publishes a typed research event with the previous and current claim and its evidence. Saved lists that depend on a corrected connection are flagged “Research updated”.

Requests about people

Requests to remove or correct a reference to an individual in a public source go through the privacy request form and are handled separately from research corrections.
